At Earth Wind & Flour we believe that dessert is just as essential as the entree. That’s why we are proud to offer a delectable array of treats to cap off your eating experience. This week we want to spotlight one of our best, the old Italian favorite, Tiramisu.
Italian for “pick me up,” Tiramisu is a decadent dessert that is believed to have been created in the 1960s, in the town of Veneto, Italy. As is the case with most great recipes, several chefs from the region claim to have been the originator, but true artist behind the creation has yet to be identified.
What we do know is why it’s Italy’s most famous dessert. Tiramisu is a mixture of Italy’s most delicious ingredients all put together to make you feel great. The cake is made from another pastry called ladyfingers, a light and sweet spongy cake, being dipped in coffee. From there the cakes are layered with a mixture of egg yolks, egg whites, sugar, mascarpone cheese, and flavored with cocoa.
Of course, the recipe has many varieties; such as ours which expertly soaks the lady fingers in espresso and uses Zabaione cream, a light custard made with sweet wine, to amplify the already rich tastes. We’re confident that our tiramisu will have you in love at first bite, and will be a joy to share with anyone you may be with. Naturally, this treat goes great with coffee, which you can slowly sip as you enjoy every morsel.
We feel that we have the best tiramisu in all of Los Angeles, but don’t take our word for it, come to Earth, Wind, and Flour and try it for yourself. Of course, our Tiramisu is only just one of our luscious desserts, so when you’re here you’ll have plenty to choose from.
